Thank you all for your wonderful comments recently. I'm particularly grateful for the tips on how to cope with the hot flushes.
We've just had a wonderful long weekend down in Berkshire and then in Oxford. The wedding went superbly and I'll share some photos with you from our trip shortly.
In the meantime, this looks like fun. Free & Easy Stitch Style by Poppy Treffery.
I've had this book from the library for a while now and I really need to have a go at this.
It looks fairly straightforward and everything is explained very clearly.
I'll have to see if my sewing machine is up to it.
Oh me too! I bought this book years ago and it IS lovely. I've even got an embroidery foot for my machine, Still haven't got around to doing anything though...

How funny, I was looking at your blog, when you commented on mine. I have had a few attempts at free motion embroidery, which I always like the look of, but just couldn't get to grips with it. So will be interested to see how you get on, and may have to get that book. I just couldn't cope with the needle swinging around.
ReplyDeleteI missed your post on flushes. I think that is nearly all over for me, although it did seem to come and go for a while. Always worse in the summer. I read some worrying things about possible side effects of black cohash, but took flaxseed oil for a while. You can get it in Holland and Barratt. It did seem to work.
Thanks Ginny. I'll pop into Holland and Barratt and see if I can get some. I'm always a bit dubious about taking anything but it would be good to find something that helps.
DeleteI haven't come across this book, I will try and get it out of the library myself.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of that book-Winter is going to be my challenge of the sewing machine. Will look for the book.
