Another Vintage Pattern

I love browsing charity shops, you just never know what you might find.  I especially love coming across something craft related.

So, I was very pleased the other day to find this crochet pattern.

The doily is made using filet crochet and the design is supposed to be bouquets of roses.  The pattern dates from 1964, but has a definite 1950s feel to it.

I'm not sure about the roses but I do like the construction and set up of the filet panels.

I don't think it would be too difficult to substitute another pattern within the panels, so I think I'll have a play around and see what I can come up with.
