Macramé- An Attempt

It's probably about thirty years since my last attempt at macramé.  So I wasn't expecting too much from a fresh attempt after all these years.  I was, though, feeling suitably inspired, see my previous post on the subject.

Ever the optimist, I jumped straight in and decided to go for an owl.

Does it look like an owl?  I'm not convinced.

It was surprising how quickly all the knots came back to me, and I did enjoy designing it.

I used 4 ply cotton, which worked nicely but I probably could have done with more drops as I think my owl looks rather under-fed.

I might try some more macramé, maybe a sampler, or something abstract - but I'm sticking with my original assessment - at the end of the day, there isn't much you can do with macramé!
