Cardigan for Eve

I can now show you the cardi I knitted for Eve for her birthday.

The pattern is Nancy by Kim Hargreaves from her book Touching Elegance.

Eve loves it - she hasn't taken it off yet. It's lovely and warm and comfy - I may well borrow it whilst she's out at school!
I used Sirdar yarn - my favourite brand. It took less than five 100g balls of Countrystyle DK . Each ball is a very economical 318 metres (348 yds). Full details can be seen on my Ravelry page, here.

I started knitting it early in January - thinking I would have it easily finished for her birthday. However, knitting it in secret meant that I didn't have as much time as I thought and so I only finished knitting it the day before her birthday.

I have to admit that it was very boring to knit. Plain stocking stitch for the back seemed to go on forever. Because of this, I couldn't face knitting my own cardi in the evenings.

Thankfully now it's finished I feel all inspired again. The black cardi is still hibernating but I've started knitting a dress! This has the potential to end up being boring but I've added a small textured detail to the skirt and the bodice will be a lovely colourful Fair Isle pattern. I'm designing this one myself so details may change as I progress.
