Hair

The good thing about hair is that it grows.  I've always had a very cavalier attitude to my hair on the basis that any mistakes will soon grow out.  I started cutting my own hair when I was a teenager, with a razor blade.

In my 40s I had very short hair.  By this time I had progressed from a razor blade to an electric hair cutting kit.

An ideal hair cut for the woman on the go!  A quick rub down with a towel after a shower and it's done!

As my 50s approached I decided that I would grow my hair - trying to recapture that youthful look!

Two and a half years later, I've reached the point when it's driving me mad.

It's just hanging there - and I spend my time pushing it back or tying it up.

So yesterday I treated myself to an little indulgence and went to the hairdressers - first time in I don't know how many years.  And this is how I look now...

The hairdresser gave me the cut off hair...

...as a souvenir!

  1. I love the new 'do! But I also must admit, that I think that top one is terrific. Mine is currently beyond my waist and it's time to get rid of it all.

  3. HAHAHA That looks like me. My hair has been all differant lengths. I am now at that inbetween stage. Not short but not to the length that I want it. And it is a mess. Been thinking that maybe I will "trim" it soon. I love yours though :)

  4. That is a fabulous look for you! You have a wonderful attitude about your hair and you are lucky to be one of the few people who look great with hair of any length. Although I don't look good in short hair, I am feeling emboldened by your words (and a little envious of your great haircut). I just might be getting a nice haircut for myself this summer. It is so much better to spend our time messing around with long strands of yarn than long strands of hair! :)
